Preapproved for More Than You Want to Spend?

A fall move starts with a homebuying budget that feels right for you.

A lender can preapprove you for more than you’re comfortable spending. That’s why, if you’re hoping to move this fall, the first step is to work out what your monthly payment should be—not just the largest loan you might qualify for.

A loan officer can help you compare payments at different price points, estimate how much cash you’ll need to close, and review loan options. From there, you can set a home search budget that leaves room for the rest of your life.

Getting preapproved before you start touring can also bring paperwork or credit questions to light early. You’ll be better prepared to evaluate a home and make an offer when the right one comes along. Preapproval is a useful starting point, though it isn’t a guarantee of a loan or a fall closing.

Thinking about a move in Simi Valley or Ventura County? Message me. I can connect you with a trusted loan officer and help you build a search around your timing, priorities, and budget.
